Tips for stress-free partying
Socialising is fun but we have to keep it safe.
Find a bag with a long strap so you can wear it across your body. Keep it on you or within reach at all times. In it you’ll put:
Your phone and charger. Try limiting the amount of time you spend on your phone so you never run out of battery life. If you are in an emergency, call 112. It’s a free 24/7 helpline.
Emergency transport money for you to get home or to a safe place in case you are stranded.
Keep it public
Go out with friends, and try to avoid going to places you don’t know or partying with people you don’t know. We know you know this, but it’s worth saying again: never get into cars with strangers.
Let someone know where you are going and who you will be with. Update them whenever plans change.
Let’s say you’re at a house party with bae and his crew, and he has to go somewhere quickly. Go with him so you aren’t left alone with people you may not know very well as this can make you feel uncomfortable.
Look out for number 1
It’s fun being a social butterfly, but you need rest so that you have the energy to keep up on the dance floor. Remember your 8 glasses of water per day!
Be on the lookout
Open your own drinks and always keep your eye on them. Parties are fun but some people take advantage of the relaxed vibe by putting date-rape drugs in girls’ drinks.
If you want and are old enough for alcohol, pace yourself so can enjoy yourself and still be able to keep yourself safe.
