Makeup made easy.
I love the way I look naturally, but makeup allows me to express my personality and creativity. Here are my tips!
Your eyes: If you only want to line your eyes, a pencil eyeliner will do. If you love having a cat-eye or winged eye like celebs, you need a liquid eyeliner. Get tips and inspiration online.
Eyebrows: Shape them with an old toothbrush. Brush all your hairs upwards, then brush the hairs that are sticking out into shape. If you want to be extra, you can use an eyebrow pencil. Here’s something I discovered while learning to wear makeup: use lightly. Apply one layer or coat at a time.
Longer lashes: Vaseline is boss. It makes lashes look thicker and keeps them moisturised, which promotes hair growth.
For cover: BB Cream is like foundation, but lighter and looks more natural. I only have it as an emergency product for moments when I have spots. I buy mine at Clicks or Shoprite.
Read my lips: When you want your lips to make a colourful statement, lipstick is the one! You can go as natural (nude) or as colourful as you wish!
It’s important to remember that makeup is fun. Play with it and enjoy it, but don’t hide behind it or think that you need it to be beautiful. What’s on the inside, our character, is more important than how we look. It’s the stuff that remains with us for life!
