Wake up, today is the day. Revision time starts now. Exams are around the corner, giving you the opportunity to get a step closer to your next grade. Combining smart work with hard work is a great way to work towards your goals! But you know what also helps you keep on top of your exam countdown? Moving your body! When we exercise our bodies release chemicals called endorphins. They are known as happy hormones because that’s exactly what they do — make us happy. Working out also releases Serotonin (which controls sleep and boosts your mood) and Dopamine (which promotes mental stimulation). Ready to start?
Keep it simple: Do only what you enjoy whether it’s running, walking, jogging or dancing. It’s also important to be realistic; if you can only find time to work out twice a week, that’s also fine.
The more, the merrier: If you have a study group, suggest adding exercises to your programme. You can also ask friends or other students in your community to start a walking or jogging club. However, always put your safety first. It’s safer to work out in groups. Avoid dark and unlit streets, and abandoned areas like an open field.
Smart work: Did you know that even 10 minutes of working out has an impact? If you can’t start or find a group to work out with, get your happy hormones by taking regular breaks to work out right where you are. Play your favourite songs and dance your heart out!
That’s it. That’s how you can use your body to boost your brain power for exam season, and whenever you are working hard towards a goal. How do you plan for exam season? Which tricks do you use to beat exam stress? Share your tips in the comment section below.
Good luck girls!
