Final year exams are exciting but they can also be stressful. Here are some tips to help you get to the finishing line.
We need to work hard to reach our goals, whatever they are. This includes revising for your final exams. Sticking to your study plans, and making your revisions a top priority, will boost your confidence. We feel ready to face situations, exams included when we are well-prepared for them.
Now to the fun part of revisions — talking to yourself about how awesome you are. Make a list of everything you have done that shows how great you are. Whenever you feel overwhelmed, or you think that you are not good enough, use this list to remind yourself that you can do it. Success is a result of believing that we can do it, and then taking steps to help us get there.
First things first
Ever notice that whenever your grandmother has to do something important, she does it first thing in the morning? We are most likely to do the things we want to if we have an early start. This helps you to focus on quality instead of cramming everything because you only have a short amount of time to revise.
Tip: Have breakfast. Skipping the most important meal of the day affects your ability to concentrate.
That would be you! Make summaries of your notes, and turn into Miss Know It All by testing your family and friends! You can also ask them to give you an oral test using your summaries and old exam papers.
Be kind to yourself
This is the most important tip of all. You keep moving and pushing through no matter the challenges that come your way — you are already a winner! Rest, get some fresh air, let out a “whoooo hooo” when you get something right, and encourage yourself when you struggle by reminding yourself that you can do it!
